ProQuest Academic Databases: Features

  • ProQuest platform is multidisciplinary and multi-content type: scholarly journals, books, videos & audio, dissertations & theses, newspapers, Historical Newspapers, Magazines, Trade Journals, Reports, Wire feeds, Blogs, Podcasts & Websites...
  • All video content in your ProQuest collections may be isolated by selecting Videos & Audio in Basic Search before running a search.  Doing this will not, however, exclusively isolate Academic Video Online content.  It will search all content within your ProQuest collections indexed as video content, including Academic Video Online.
  • All book content in your ProQuest collections may be isolated by selecting Books in Basic Search before running a search.  However, this will not exclusively isolate Ebook Central content. It will search all content within your ProQuest collections indexed as book content, including Ebook Central.

What is EBSCOHost Passport?

EBSCOHost Passport is a browser extension that provides direct access to EBSCOHost resources as you browse the web. With Passport, you can discover articles, journals, and databases without first needing to navigate to the EBSCOHost platforms or Library's OneSearch.

How to Install EBSCOHost Passport

  1. Visit the EBSCOHost Passport Download Page

  2. Click on the extension/addon download links 
    Follow the instructions to install the extension on your preferred browser.

  3. Sign In
    After installing, sign in with your Douglas College library credentials to enable access.

Using EBSCOHost Passport Effectively

  1. Search for Articles Directly from Google
    When you conduct a Google search, Passport will highlight related EBSCOHost articles if available, allowing you to access reliable academic sources without extra steps.

  2. Save and Organize
    Use the save feature to collect articles for your assignments. You can organize saved materials in the EBSCOHost interface later.

  3. Check for Full-Text Access
    If you see an article you're interested in, Passport will indicate if Douglas College provides full-text access.
